Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by challenges with social interaction as well as repetitive patterns of speech and behavior. Symptoms of Autism are apparent in the early childhood years but may change over time.
According to the CDC, 1 in 36 children in the US is diagnosed with Autism, and symptoms can vary. We often say that if you’ve met one person with Autism, you’ve met one person with Autism.
Ages 15 months - 20 years

ADHD is characterized by difficulty regulating focus and attention, blocking out distractions, organizing, problem solving, and/or controlling impulses. Individuals with ADHD may fit the hyperactive/impulsive profile, the inattentive profile, or both.

Every person has unique gifts. Some children show high levels of intelligence and academic skill development, which is referred to as giftedness. While many academically gifted students perform well, some experience challenging behaviors or social difficulties.

Learning Disabilities affect approximately 14% of the US population. Learning Disabilities can affect all subjects in school but are characterized by challenges with reading, writing, and/or math that cause an individual to fall behind their peers. Common learning disability profiles include: dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.

Developmental delays affect 1 in 6 children. Delays may occur in the development of physical skills, language, self-help skills, learning, and/or behavior. While some children “catch up” in their own time, early intervention has been proven to help strengthen skills more rapidly.

When parents or caregivers disagree with evaluations completed by the school district, they can seek an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE). An IEE is an evaluation completed by a psychologist outside of the school district. Please contact us for more information.
